Chris Wellington, has been in the HR / Recruitment industry for 13 years. After growing up in a remote fishing village in Alaska and spending time working in Washington DC as an intern in the Senate, he proudly volunteered and served his country in the US ARMY until being wounded in an overseas airborne operation. Upon entering the civilian workforce, Chris mapped over his leadership experiences and quickly made a name in the recruitment sector rising through the ranks with two global staffing giants as a senior executive.
Chris is well educated in the Scientific/FDA arena as he worked for two boutique scientific recruitment firms, placing individuals in roles from lab technicians to C-level and has assembled entire executive management teams for biotechnology start-ups. Chris served as the Division Manager of Manpower’s Scientific Division, supporting major companies such as DSM, Abbott, GlaxoSmithKline, Pfizer, and PPD. Most recently he was overseeing the Professional Services Operation for Manpower in NC, the largest Professional Recruiting and Human Resource Solutions operation in the world. In this capacity Chris supported the IT, Engineering, HR/Recruiting, Finance and Scientific Divisions.
His academic experience spans laboratory sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, clinical research and business leadership. Chris has over six years of advanced education in the FDA regulated field and numerous extracurricular courses and training programs in his tool bag. His Master’s thesis is titled “Critical Career Factors of the Clinical Research Professional.” He is a founding member of the North Carolina Medical Device Association and the Greenwood CVR, an FDA consulting firm for pharmaceutical, bio-tech, medical device and clinical research firms.
Chris is a Technical Services Certified (TSC) professional, possesses a Certified Staffing Specialist (CSP) title and was one of the first in North Carolina to become a Certified and Registered Sales Professional (CRSP). Chris has been a major advocate of certification and training; making various presentations, publishing articles and serving the HR and Recruitment industry in numerous certification and education capacities. Chris is a board member of the Global Executive Board of the United Professional Sales Association and was the President of NTSA and VP of NCASP.
Chris is a subject matter expert in Human Resource, Niche Recruitment, Staff Augmentation and the developer of staffing models used by companies around the world.
